A new year brings new responsibilities at EUROGUSS, the leading European trade fair for die casting technology, processes, and products: Beginning with EUROGUSS 2026, Phuong Anh Do will take over the ongoing strategic and conceptual development of the event brand. In this role, she reports to Exhibition Director Heike Slotta, who had overall responsibility for EUROGUSS between 2009 and 2020 and continues to oversee the overarching strategy for the event.
Phuong Anh Do offers longstanding experience in the trade fair sector and has access to a well-developed network. We talked with her about her perspectives, the die casting industry, and the future of EUROGUSS.
Ms Do, what experience do you have in the exhibition management sector?
“I have always been fascinated by trade fairs as places where ideas take shape and people come together with a shared vision. Since 2014, I have held various roles at NürnbergMesse, contributing my expertise in event design, sales, and organisation.
Having acquired qualifications in business management, including a master’s degree, I took over the management of FACHPACK in 2022. Europe’s leading packaging trade fair is one of the largest events in the NürnbergMesse stable, attracting around 1,400 international exhibitors and 35,000 visitors to 12 exhibition halls.
In the future, I’ll be responsible for the strategic and conceptual development of both FACHPACK and EUROGUSS. I aim to work with our seasoned teams to make both trade fairs even more relevant, commercially successful, and clearly positioned within their respective sectors over the long term.”
What do you like about the die casting industry, insofar as you can have an opinion at this stage?
“I am already impressed by the vital role that die casting technology plays in the industrial value chain and by its broad, future-driven positioning in various sectors, including automotive, aerospace, energy and medical technology, machinery and equipment manufacturing, and lifestyle products and consumer goods.
Over the last 30 years, EUROGUSS has evolved into a unique trade fair for the industry, which it has supported through turbulent times. I will focus on continuing to develop EUROGUSS as the leading global platform for the die casting industry and a trailblazer for the entire die casting supply chain.
I am already looking forward immensely to EUROGUSS 2026 and to getting to know the sector and its players, to enable me to then collaborate with exhibitors, industry partners, associations and visitors to actively shape the future of die casting!”
What do you find especially fascinating about EUROGUSS?
“It’s not just the automotive sector that is facing major changes. Requirements for more sustainability, along with rising energy costs, are changing the underlying conditions for many companies in Europe.
In this context, the EUROGUSS brand can set an example for the entire die casting sector by providing a platform for its innovations and latest developments. It is not possible at this stage to predict in detail what these changes will look like, but one thing is sure: face-to-face dialogue and networking are essential if you want to shape change successfully.
And that’s exactly where EUROGUSS comes into play. As a brand, it offers a key platform for innovation, but also a place where experts come together, discuss key issues, and develop solutions. And I see it as a hub where the traditions of the past intersect with the future. The best ideas emerge from dialogue, when expertise, openness, and fresh inspiration come together – today and in the future.”
What is especially important to you when it comes to collaborating with partners, exhibitors, and trade visitors?
“Approachability and dialogue! It is my heartfelt wish that representatives of the sector know that the EUROGUSS team and entire NürnbergMesse organisation are always listening to them, and that they can approach us at all times. We see ourselves as a reliable partner that maintains a constant dialogue with the sector, not just during advisory board meetings or at the event itself, but in general, as part of an open and constructive exchange. Because we aim to continue to design EUROGUSS to meet the needs of the die casting industry.”
