“Just being among the four finalists was already a great honour. Winning was unexpected and filled me with immense joy,” Tronci said after the ceremony. She emphasised that the industry is undergoing a profound transformation, requiring innovation, sustainability and new perspectives. This is why she identifies with the mission of “Women with Metal”, which recognises diverse skills and career paths and encourages new generations of women to pursue careers in the industry.

A familiar face in the EUROGUSS community

Tiziana Tronci is no stranger to EUROGUSS. Gefond is among the exhibitors at the trade fair in Nuremberg. At EUROGUSS 2026, Tronci also took part in the inaugural “Women in DieCasting” panel discussion, which explored how diverse experiences and perspectives can help companies develop and evolve.

EUROGUSS 365 subsequently covered the discussion in its article “Why Diversity Has Become a Leadership Imperative in Die Casting”. In the article, Tronci also spoke about her unconventional path into the industry. Before joining the family business, she spent 15 years working in sectors including communications, fashion and textiles. She sees her experience outside the foundry industry as an advantage, enabling her to ask different questions and introduce fresh ideas. One example she cited was the development of predictive maintenance software, which enabled Gefond to expand into new business areas.

Tronci also participated in discussions about the future of the European die-casting industry at the EUROGUSS Executive Circle 2025 near Milan. There, she emphasised the importance of personal contacts and open dialogue between companies, as reported by EUROGUSS 365.

Recognising Innovation and Sustainability

The Women with Metal Award in the “Sustainable & Innovative Leader” category honours women who contribute to the advancement of the industry through sustainable practices and innovation. The organisers highlighted Tronci’s work on energy-efficient technologies and AI-powered solutions that help strengthen the metal industry’s long-term viability and competitiveness.

The awards were first presented in 2024. Organisations behind the initiative include the Women with Metal network and the UK Aluminium Federation (ALFED). In 2026, awards were presented in six categories. The winners were selected by an international jury comprising representatives from industry, associations and specialist media. The initiative aims to raise the visibility of women’s achievements and highlight career opportunities in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
