Product information

In die casting, the correct temperature control of the tools is important; it has a direct influence on the quality of the end products and affects the production costs. Automated control systems from Bürkert ensure precisely reproducible results.

In aluminium die casting, the water lines in the cooling circuit run directly through the tools. The cooling water flow is usually controlled using the classic on/off method and adjusted by means of manual valves. The process is time-consuming, not reproducible and pressure fluctuations reduce the performance of the systems. This is not tolerable for many workpieces, as the correct temperature control of the moulds has a direct influence on the quality of the end products and affects the production costs. Bürkert Fluid Control Systems has therefore developed automated control systems for temperature control, which are customised to the respective application as a ready-to-connect complete solution. This makes the entire process more efficient, increases product quality and even allows the maintenance concept to be optimised.

Ready-to-connect complete solution

Type 3280 motorised control valves, which are insensitive to dirt, are used in the automated control systems to ensure a high level of reliability, even in the event of contamination and particles in the cooling circuit. The risk of leakage, which is particularly high with screw connections and temperature changes, can be minimised by using a flexible welded housing. The complete customised control system, consisting of fluid and electrical technology, is then pre-assembled, programmed, tested and delivered in a compact control cabinet for easy installation and commissioning. Once installed in the system, the data is then sent, monitored and documented via a single digital interface to the higher-level control system. During operation, the cooling capacity can be monitored digitally and maintenance measures can be planned in the event of deviations.
