The challenges arise from size, shape and mass of the cast products and from their high surface requirements (visible and mounting surfaces require excellent conditions). The casters need to adapt their process parameters to meet these new stringent requirments and increase the level of the stress of the die. Steelmakers need to help die makers and die casters by improving or creating new grades with improved properties.
