Young talents wanted: EUROGUSS fosters the industry’s future

The next generation is not a question of the future – it’s a task for the present. With the newly designed Young Talent Day and the EUROGUSS Talent Award, EUROGUSS is taking a clear stance: two formats that bring young talents and the die casting industry together – directly, practically and on equal terms.

A stage for practice-oriented final theses

At the heart of Young Talent Day lies the EUROGUSS Talent Award. The competition honours final theses that contribute to the advancement of the die casting industry with new ideas, practical approaches and technical depth. The winning papers are presented on the big stage during the trade fair – a valuable boost in visibility for the next generation of experts.

The Talent Award is a fantastic opportunity to present your own work and receive professional feedback from industry experts,” says Christian Hermann, Senior Instructor at Bühler Die Casting. “At the same time, it’s a great platform to expand your professional network within the industry.

Finalists from 2024 agree. “I thought it was brilliant, because alongside your own presentation you can also gather a wealth of other information about die casting,” says Dariusz Miersch. “You learn an incredible amount – and it’s of course a huge experience to speak in front of such an audience for the first time.

It was also Neelima Gottumukkala’s first time on stage. “Thanks to the EUROGUSS Talent Award, I was able to overcome my fear – it was so cool,” says Gottumukkala. “You can get in touch with companies directly, expand your network and gain confidence for the next steps in your career.

Promoting young talent means securing the industry’s future

The importance of the Award goes far beyond the trade fair. The industry is under transformation pressure – technologically, economically and demographically.
Promoting young talent is therefore no longer a question of image, but a decisive factor for the industry’s long-term viability.

Young professionals are the future knowledge bearers who will drive the industry forward and ensure its continued existence,” says Hermann. “Combined with fresh perspectives, this is how technologies can evolve in the best possible way.

One day, many opportunities

Beyond the award ceremony, the Young Talent Day offers a wide range of opportunities: guided tours of the trade fair, talks designed specifically for young professionals, and networking sessions with companies and universities. It provides easy access to an industry that combines high technology, sustainability and international career prospects.

“I look forward to exciting ideas that go beyond my daily routine – ideas that might one day contribute to the advancement of our technology,” says Hermann. “At the same time, I want to show young talents the world of casting – with all its opportunities for their own careers.”

The die casting industry needs new ideas – and young minds to put them into practice. Young Talent Day provides both.
