Zinc die casting conference 2022

EUROGUSS 365: What is the International Zinc Diecasting Conference about?

Van Leeuwen: The 5th International Zinc Die Casting Conference is a one-and-a-half-day conference which will highlight the latest research, developments and innovations in zinc die casting alloys and process technologies and discuss market trends and opportunities. The Zinc Die Casting Conference 2022 is organized by the International Zinc Association, IZA, in conjunction with Initiative Zink, and supported by international foundry associations Assofond, Experience Zamak and TEDFUN.

EUROGUSS 365: Why are you organizing an International Zinc Diecasting Award together with the conference?

Van Leeuwen: The International Zinc Die Casting Award is an excellent way for zinc die casting companies to showcase their finest and premium die cast parts and the associated final uses and applications. Award winners who are active in zinc die casting can use the award certificates to promote their strengths and specialisms in their company to their end customers. It will also give the conference delegates a good flavour of the latest trends and developments in part innovations, casting complexities and quality requirements. New innovations, more complexity and higher quality standards are often driven by innovations in casting equipment, alloy composition and automation. All this can typically be included and combined in the submissions for the award competition.

EUROGUSS 365: Why should we get to Koblenz and join this conference?

Neumann: The Zinc Die Casting Conference will be of interest to die casters, designers, specifiers, design engineers and representatives from end-use industries. As it is an international conference and targets international delegates, the conference will be held in English. This conference is a great opportunity for industry peers and experts to meet, network, discuss and enjoy social time together, while it is supported by many of the largest industry players in zinc die casting, machine manufacturing and alloy supplying.

EUROGUSS 365: Why is this event focussed on zinc die casting specifically?

Van Leeuwen: Most die casting events have a heavy focus on iron and aluminium casting, as this represents about 90% of the total die casting market. The market size for zinc die castings however is still very significant and zinc die castings are used a lot in automotive, electronics, hardware, door & window systems, kitchen & bathroom, furniture and sports & leisure products. We believe that zinc die castings have their own strengths and values and zinc castings can very often successfully compare with brass, aluminum and plastic castings. The zinc die casting market shows a strong growth and therefore deserves to have its own international zinc die casting conference to serve the zinc die casting industry.

EUROGUSS 365: When and where will it take place, and where can we find more information?

Neumann: The conference will take place in the congress center Rhein-Mosel-Halle in Koblenz, Germany, at October 5-7, 2022. More information can be found here.
