The Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing (MSAM) Lab, part of the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Department at the University of Waterloo, is Canada’s leading academic research hub focused on advancing additive manufacturing (AM) processes.
At MSAM, researchers investigate cutting-edge AM technologies to push the boundaries of materials development, process innovation, and product performance. This work is enabled by state-of-the-art modeling and simulation tools, precision monitoring systems, adaptive closed-loop process control, quality assurance algorithms, and a comprehensive suite of in-situ and ex-situ characterization techniques.
