Chip-removing deburring of strips and workpieces
Different processes for grinding, deburring and chasing strip steel and individual workpieces are presented.
Processes for grinding, brushing, chasing and chip-removing deburring of strip steel are presented and illustrated with application examples from the razor blade, tube, machine knife and surgical industries.
Both CNC and robot technology are used for machining individual workpieces, with robot technology being used both for loading and unloading the grinding and deburring machines and in the form of a machining robot in manufacturing cells. In the robot cell, either the workpiece or the tool is guided by a robot, depending on the size and weight of the workpiece and the machining to be achieved.
The individual machining processes are illustrated with application examples from the cutlery, hollowware, foundry and surgical industries.
Possible interfaces for Industry 4.0 applications are shown. For automation, workpiece supply and feeding as well as automated loading and unloading processes are described.
The acquisition of sensory signals with a programmed evaluation logic or a set of rules with corresponding decisions for downstream processes represents the actual Industry 4.0 interface of the machines. The selected examples show the self-organisation of the machines with the control of the available resources. All data is managed by a cloud manager and thus controls the digital production of several decentralised, intelligent automation systems.
