Which drive will move us in the future? This question is of particular concern to the die-casting industry, for which the automotive industry is the most important customer for die-cast components. The increasing trend towards electromobility, away from the combustion engine, poses new challenges for the entire industry. But it also holds a multitude of opportunities. In order to remain the technology leader and key supplier for OEMs as a producer of die-cast components, innovative ideas and investments in new die-casting technologies are required.

No matter whether

  • Internal combustion engines (ICE)
  • Hybrid electric vehicles (HEV)
  • Electric drives (BEV, REX, PHEV, FCHEV)

represent the future of propulsion. The die-casting industry must prepare itself for a new era. This is because the change in drive technology will have an impact above all on cast die-cast parts. Here, however, the die-casting process, with its ability to realise extremely small wall thicknesses or to combine several functions in one component, offers numerous possibilities to design components more easily.
