It doesn’t get any sharper: the new RF 100 Sharp

The machining of soft, tough and high-alloyed materials presents challenges for any user of milling tools. Built up edge, chip jams and, should worse come to worst, tool breakage – picking the wrong tool can lead to all of this. With the new RF 100 Sharp from Gühring, you no longer have to worry about this. The specialist for soft, tough and high-alloyed materials is characterised by a smooth and quiet cutting operation with a tensile strength of 300-900N/mm² and high ductility.

The RF 100 Sharp can be used for all cutting operations and is available from a diameter of 1 mm. This means that you can also benefit from its outstanding properties in the micro range.

Under stable cutting operations the solid carbide milling cutter reaches extremely high cutting speeds and metal removal rates. The AlCrN coating offers the ideal wear protection. Even with unstable machines or clamping, excellent results can be achieved with the RF 100 Sharp. The carbide used has a high level of toughness which prevents the tool from breaking.

The RF 100 Sharp extends the portfolio of Gühring as the first milling cutter in an extra-long version. This variant is based on “long (DIN)”, but has a longer cutting edge than the standard milling cutter. In this way, when cutting deeper depths, you can also use a lower cost milling cutter with a smaller diameter.
