60° plunging and top-performance milling.
With the RF 100 Micro Diver, Gühring is meeting the challenges of the continual miniaturisation of parts and components. The high-performance micro milling tool boasts extreme cutting values and very high cutting depths, previously not possible with micro tools. For maximum machining volume and process reliability in the smallest operations. The tool can be used in almost any material, it really shows off its strengths in difficult materials, such as stainless steels, titanium and special alloys or CoCr steels.
As its name and product family of plunge milling cutters suggests, the micro diver has outstanding plunging properties. This means significantly reduced machining time and depending on the application, no need for the use of additional tools.
In terms of geometry, the Micro Diver is based on a Ratio milling cutter geometry. With this tool principle, the cutting edges are arranged at different distances from each other, which dampens the oscillation frequencies that build up. As a result, the tool runs much more quietly. Furthermore, a new flute geometry has significantly optimised chip evacuation and increased overall stability.
The range is available in two lengths: a short 2.5xD version for all types of applications and a long 5xD version for GTC (Gühring Trochoidal Cutting) and finishing applications. Depending on the length, the diameter range starts with a diameter of 0.79 mm or 1.00 mm for the long version and extends to a diameter of 3.175 mm.
