The company was founded by brothers Corti Tarcisio, Mario and Giulio who penetrate the aluminium and plastic pressure die-casting mould market with determination and skill. The workshop activity will use the techniques of the time: pantograph milling machines, then replaced by various versions of NC machines.
After starting the company and reaching the first goals, among which surely the product consolidated quality, the management change to the second generation. Marco Corti, supported by his father and his uncles, establishes a management which suits the company targets and personally provides to the required "ingredients" for generating the growth.
Consolidation and selection of choices and targets. The company develops its "mission and vision" with a clear and simple goal: being one of the best European companies of the industry. A systematic research for customers being sensitive to qualifying elements as communication punctuality, readiness and accuracy is the starting point for the Costamp development.
The determined will to go ahead with the expansion develops more incisively when moving to Sirone on a 6000 sqm covered area. This area permits successive extensions of the buildings. The technological evolution and the various working requirements involved the gradual replacement and growth of the whole machine pool.
The main working phase in mould manufacturing, i.e. the milling, requires the use of quicker and quicker machines and more and more small and long cutters, thus replacing part of the electroerosion processes. Also during this year, Costamp invests in this direction.
Special machines and drills for drilling more than one meter depth allow the position and diameter tolerances to be near those obtained with the wire erosion machines for the through holes. Costamp makes use of this technology.
Purchase of the 2000 ton pressure die-casting press. The moulds supplied can be tested in the company and made ready for working, while checking for their practical suitability. This way, the customer can buy all the processes at Costamp, from the design of the raw-piece to first samples or small test-series.
Purchase of the software for flow simulation. This technique avoids long, empiric and costly processes and allows a sure and efficient designing, both for the temperature and the flow control in the mould. The design improves to the advantage of the finished product, in particular as to the carrying out of new costructions.
Partecipation in Pama S.r.l.
Thanks to this partecipation, Costamp enlarges its manufacturing capacity, in particular in the mould-holder field. New investments are then done to buy machines with tables covering 4 m and strokes up to 8 meters, suitable for bulky piece machining, while keeping a high accuracy and reliability level.
Internal X-ray control
The internal sampling also requires the availability for proper internal equipments for quality inspection. The radiological test for potential porosities is one of the base requirements for sample castings.
