THERCAST® allows to calibrate processes and to accurately determine the specifications of the products. Indeed the casting systems can be optimized, as well as the riser system, and mold deformation can be predicted. The complete multi-phase metal behavior can be simulated: liquid state filling under turbulence, solidifying and primary shrinkage allowing for the mushy zone, primary and secondary shrinkage after complete solidification.
THERCAST® also predicts the microstructure evolution of the material during the process with grain structure. Phase transformations that appear during solidification (transformation areas with ferrite, perlite…) can be determined. The software integrates predictive metallurgical models dealing with micro-segregation phenomena that can lead to macro-segregations.

THERCAST® software enables to predict and locate defects at a macroscopic and microscopic scale that could appear during the filling or the solidification.
The software will precisely indicate where primary or secondary shrinkage may occur, underfillings, air gaps, cracks, stresses and distortion, porosities, micro-segregations, grain growth, etc.
