The ProCAST, QuikCAST and QuikCAST Light casting simulators are produced by ESI-Group, a French company that has enjoyed tremendous growth in the international market since the 1970s to include production facilities in over 30 countries with a total of 1,300 employees. The origin of the three software dates back to 1982. ProCAST was born in the USA by a satellite company of NASA, acquired in 2003 by ESI-Group; while QuikCAST & QuikCASt Lt. are bought by ESI-Group in the 1990s by the French company Pechiney.
ESI-Group is the only company in the world to produce two simulators for the foundry and steelworks. The softwares simulate the casting process using two different technologies:
-ProCAST: Finite Element Technology (FEM): the state of the art is by far the most refined and performing.
-QuikCAST/QuikCAST Lt.: Finite Difference technology or Control volumes (FDM): it is an excellent compromise between cost and performance.
