We supply our high-quality alloys from our electrolysis plants in Essen, Voerde, and Hamburg, as well as, to a large extent, from the smelting plants for recycled aluminum in Gelsenkirchen (with a yearly capacity of 90,000 t) and Harzgerode. As a result of the company’s die casting plants located in Harzgerode and in nearby Sömmerda, the smelting plant in Harzgerode plays a particularly important role for the automotive division at TRIMET.
The smelting plant in Harzgerode has two modern rotary drum furnaces with capacities of 13 t and 18 t, respectively, plus 5 t of Montanal per batch. In addition, the plant is equipped with three convertors with capacities between 20 t and 25 t, as well as three stack-smelting furnaces with a smelting capacity of 1.5 t per hour. The downstream pig iron casting line has a casting capacity of 10 t per hour. The plant has a daily production of 150 t.
