We are your reliable non-ferrous sand casting foundry for sophisticated components of medium-sized quantities. Perfectly cast in sand and machined at high-performance CNC centers, we regularly offer unit weights from 200g to 200 kg and from 1 piece to 20,000 pieces per year – with micron-range precision, if desired – in all aluminum and copper alloys. We will accompany you throughout the entire life cycle of your component – from design assistance and prototype manufacturing through series production to covering your spare parts needs. Molded by hand, on semi-automatic molding machines or on molding lines; with a high level of internally added value and with or without further downstream processing and logistics. PERFECTLY SHAPED IDEAS
Design follows function. You have an idea for a component and its functionality within a context. We in turn have an idea on how to produce it. This firstly requires a casting-compatible design, secondly, a perfect model, and thirdly, a likewise perfect mold, i.e. the optimum alloy, the suitable molding sand, precisely positioned cores for hollow spaces, channels, and indentations, regulating cooling elements, and finally a foundry man, who perfectly knows what he does and has a feeling for the process when the desired piece begins to take shape. Accompanying quality tests, surface finishings, and a chipping post-processing complete the image of a perfectly cast item.
SIMULATION BEATS TRIAL & ERROR
Besides the considerable wealth of experience of our specialists, master craftsmen, and engineers, which is passed on from generation to generation, we go a step further by analyzing and optimizing our foundry processes with the aid of complex software tools, which predict what is happening during mold filling and solidification in the sand box. We live the interaction between theory and practice every day in the collaboration between CAD designers, simulation, and the technical departments with their technical know-how. This is the foundation of our success: stable, safe production processes, high casting quality right from the start, quickly starting new components, and few corrective loops.
THREE SAND CASTING OPTIONS
The lost mold sand casting method offers designers the greatest freedom and is predestined for series of medium quantities due to the limited one-time costs.
For a foundry, it is rare to offer the entire range of processes available in sand casting as Dietermann + Co. does. We manufacture series items using the Seiatsu method on two automated HWS molding lines. We also produce large components in series in the hand molding shop and manufacture prototypes for our series production customers. We mold small series typically from old patterns for spare parts requirements, which we take over from other foundries, too, on mechanized molding machines.
HIGH LEVEL OF VERTICAL RANGE OF PRODUCTION
In order to answer the request of ready-to-assemble components delivery, we have decided to include metal cutting as an internal core competence of the company. For this reason, significant funds have been invested in modern CNC machining centers and employee training. Only if we take care of these matters primarily in-house, you will benefit from the aspects of flexibility, independency from suppliers, experience feedback from production to design or from machining to the foundry and, above all, from quality assurcance. We want to be able to machine everything we cast internally. The portfolio of our machining capabilities is as diverse as the portfolio of our castings is in terms of geometries, dimensions and quantities – from maximum measuring ranges of 2600 mm and combined turning-milling centers for complex geometries of medium quantities to highly efficient series processings of small components on machines with pallet changers.
