Magnesium is the construction material of the 21st century. Very light and at the same time extremely stable, best casting properties, excellent mechanical machining properties and almost unlimited recyclability - these are just some of the properties to which the light metal owes its unstoppable career. The trend towards magnesium is unmistakable.
Components made of magnesium alloys have always played a key role in many STIHL chainsaws and power tools. STIHL founded a magnesium die-casting plant in 1971 in order to guarantee the high quality requirements in the long term. Shortly afterwards, well-known manufacturers from the automotive and power tool industries also opted for precision die casting "made by STIHL". As one of the largest and most modern magnesium die casting plants in Europe with approx. 750 committed employees, we are already well equipped today to meet tomorrow's requirements.
