The GF Automotive AG, situated in Schaffhausen (Switzerland), is a leading global supplier of iron and light metal cast components for the automotive industry and industrial applications. Besides GF Piping Systems and GF Machining Solutions GF Automotive is part of the stock listed Georg Fischer AG. Around 5000 employees work at ten production sides in Germany, Austria, China and North America.

In Switzerland and in China GF Automotive operates research and development centers with 60 employees. Other essential R&D activities are alloy and process development as well as material and component testing. Approximately 3 % of turnover is devoted to R&D annually.
