The Oskar FRECH group Schorndorf near Stuttgart is a pioneer in the field of high-pressure die casting technology. At Oskar Frech we develop, manufacture and distribute hot- and cold-chamber die casting machines as well as vacuum die casting equipment and, in addition, all the peripheral and automation equipment required for these processes. Thanks to our own workshop for tooling and dies and state-of-the-art service portfolio we operate as a true one-stop shop and can offer a range that spans everything from individual machines to very big turn-key die casting systems. Striving for the highest levels of quality and perfection in design and construction and with outstanding innovations to our name we have been setting the benchmark time and time again. In addition FRECH has been pushing the boundary of its range of services by strategically buying up other companies and technologies.
Ever since FRECH presented the world’s first automated hot-chamber die casting machine we have been growing steadily and today command a workforce of more than 800 employees. Around the world, thousands of die casting machines made by FRECH produce engine blocks, gearboxes, housings for electric motors and structural components of the finest quality, very often with extremely thin wall thicknesses and refined surface finishes. Not just cars but other products, too, such as household appliances, smart phones and computers contain die cast components. Another important market segment is fittings and hardware for furniture, windows and doors. FRECH has production plants in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, China, Poland, the U.S. and Bulgaria. An important trend are innovative solutions that help save energy, resources and costs, such as the Frech FGS solution with its reduced-to-the-max gating system and hot-chamber machines that were designed for enviably short cycle times. Thanks to the Vacural technology a reliable process is now available for the production of castings that can be welded and are heat-treatable, and that can even be used with salt cores, which significantly increases the design freedom of die cast components. Today the range even includes the additive manufacturing - or 3D printing - of metal parts down to the smallest batch sizes as well as Internet of Things (IoT) innovations for Smart Foundry Solutions. To ensure future success in markets around the world we at FRECH offer apprenticeships and recruit university graduates from around the world who want try their hand at the fascinating technology of high-pressure die casting. Furthermore, we offer internships to students, whether mandatorily required of them as part of their university course or on a voluntary basis, and are also happy to provide support for dissertations.
